Barbara Weber
Barbara Weber, a Festival of Arts exibitor for several years, began by doing portraits. She progressed to painting and drawing nudes. The person that purchased these drawings compared Weber's talent with Degas.
Weber works in many different mediums. Here are examples of her pastel, oil and charcoal. When she was teaching in Laguna Beach, many of the students could afford better equipment than she could afford. Weber often took a burned stick match and did a fabulous little drawing. This put the students in their place! Even though they could buy the best canvas, paints and brushes, she reminded them that art comes from within the artist -- not from the quality of their materials.
